Utah snow. Otherwise known as heaven on earth.

Whether you’re carving a turn, chest deep in powder, or gliding through white meadows on skinny tracks, Utah’s backcountry, downhill and cross-country skiing will take your breath away. After all, Utah is home to 13 world-class resorts covered in The Greatest Snow on Earth, and most within a short drive from Salt Lake International Airport, making Utah's resorts the most accessible in North America.

In the Park City area, you have a three resort ski town with a rich silver mining history. Park City is home to Deer Valley Resort (multi-year recipient of SKI Magazine's #1 resort in North America), Park City Mountain Resort and The Canyons Resort. Both Deer Valley Resort and Park City Mountain Resort were venues during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.

The Salt Lake City metro area claims four world-class resorts: Alta and Snowbird in Little Cottonwood Canyon, and Brighton and Solitude in Big Cottonwood Canyon. These four resorts each claim a 500 inch average annual bounty of the Greatest Snow On Earth.

To the north in the Ogden area, you will find Snowbasin, another Olympic venue with big mountain terrain and first class amenities, Powder Mountain and Wolf Mountain. Farther north, Beaver Mountain is a locals' favorite in scenic Logan Canyon. Other Utah gems include Sundance Resort in Utah County and Brian Head Resort in southern Utah.

Utah is a premier destination for nordic and cross-country skiing, and nordic skiers looking for groomed skating and classic track should not miss Soldier Hollow in Midway, Utah. Soldier Hollow is another Olympic Legacy venue with world-class snowmaking, grooming, and a training facility for the next generation of nordic skiing Olympians, ranking as the top destination in North America for cross-country skiing.
